Taste was consistent. There is a relatively low nicotine content in this blend. To each his own. I got a free sample of this with my last order and can't say enough good about it. A blast o' latakia smoke and sweetness that never gives quarter. It is a little less dense than others I've had and also not at all wet, for me it is presented with perfect moisture content, but some may find it a touch dry. After initially trying this in a narrow billiard for the first two-three bowls smoked in an enclosed area, I tried it in a couple wider gauge pipes, a Custombilt with a more conical burn chamber and a BBB Two Thousand with a similar, though smaller bowl, out on my rear deck. First is a plum and woodsy taste, different than I thought this blend isn't aggressive, your smoke is creamy and fill your mouth. If you like Latakia, try this anyway as it is exceptionally wondeful example of the fact that a predominantly Latakia blend can be heavenly. A surprisingly delicate and spicy tobacco, which plays in the upper league of Latakia blends, together with Ten Russians and Da Vinci (all manufactured by Cornell & Diehl). I find it to have a very rich, flavorful smokey, pleasantly toasty, note. Be aware of not have any other EM in your rotation bc this is the kind of tobacco thats affect your taste for ages, after a few bowls of PK you cannot feel any latakia in other mixtures. The latter of which adds a nice nutty sweetness to the blend. I get a kick out of the one-star reviews. The blend becomes so smooth that it's almost like smoking nothing. It's all Latakia. It gets one dimensional thru the bowl, in that Latakia dominates the experience and ultimately numbs the senses too much. The tobacco came apart quite easily when loading up the pipe. PK is an everyday affair for me, and it could be an all-day affair for many. The Latakia is rich & smooth, lacking the strength, intensity, and complexity to keep it interesting. The tobacco seems dry enough when being rubbed out but is hard to keep lit without drying. While a love the flavor of Latakia, and have been seeking a good, rich near-pure Latakia flavor, I found this to be bitey and unpleasant, and it tasted like it had some overly moist Virginia in it, even though it apparently doesn't have any.
